'358' derives its name from the mesh size of 3" * 0.5". The '8' represents the wire gauge, which converts to a thickness of 4mm. Thus, the dimensions of the 358 guardrail are precisely 76.2mm * 12.7mm * 4mm.
The 358 safety fence features a narrow mesh that prevents objects from passing through. This small mesh makes it incredibly challenging to cut using traditional hand tools.
